Within the city there are many squares, green spaces, small gardens and flower beds: Panagias Eleousas Square, Eleftherias Square, Dimokratias Square, Ethnikis Antistasis Square, Neas Genias Square, Makrygiannis Square, Varnali Square and 19th May Square.

Most of the squares are new or have been reconstructed. They are beautifully designed, with pergolas, fountains and many other decorative elements. They are functional with comfortable walking areas, seating areas and playgrounds. They have enough greenery (60-70%) and proper lighting.

Citizens also contribute to the development of green spaces as they can request trees and plants from the municipality to beautify the sidewalks in front of their house, undertaking their protection.
