The Municipal Open-Air Cinema “Cine – Pantheon”, the “summer paradise of Western Athens” as it has been described, marks the beginning of summer in Agia Varvara. Built amphitheatrically at the foot of Mount Egaleo, it offers the best view of nighttime Athens while combining the scents of honeysuckle with special delicacies (Cretan dakos and waffles with ice cream are not missing). Since it opened in 1999, it has started the season every year with a tribute such as films by Melina Mercouri, Greek cinema week, and so on.
